Alert: No Burning!

Hello, Neighbors! Special note from the Sauvie Island Volunteer Fire Department:

Please remember to look at the sign on the bridge- it still reads NO BURNING! Just because it is raining a little now does not make it safe to burn yet- the sun will come out in a day or so again and the fires have a way of staying ‘dormant’ for days (smoldering and trailing along unnoticed) and then ignite with great fury! It happens every year and it would be great if all people would pay attention this year to the sign or call the fire department if you are in doubt BEFORE lighting a fire.

Please do not risk burning your home or your neighbor’s by burning debris, brush, etc. at this time! This would be a good time to review with your family an action plan in case of fire. Check your smoke alarms, hoses, etc.

Thank you,
Lora Creswick

SI School Students selling local Portland Entertainment books

Hello, SI Neighbors.

Sauvie Island School is off to another great year. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful community school and support from our neighbors.

The students at Sauvie Island School are selling the local Portland Entertainment books for $20/book. If you frequently purchase an Entertainment book and would be interested in supporting our fundraising efforts, please consider one of the following choices:
1. Contact any student that you know or live near to order a book.
2. Stop by the school between 9 am and 3 pm to purchase a book.
3. Email me here and I will arrange a delivery to your home.

All proceeds will be used to purchase a document camera and projector for the 3rd/4th and 5th /6th grade rooms….technology that changes the way our teachers will present information. (very exciting)

If you have questions, please email them to me. If you wish to be removed from this email list, let me know.

Sincerely,
Kathy Stephenson
